Ellen & Joshua - A Sweet Family-Focused Wedding in 2 Parts at Elizabeth Gaskell's House - Manchester Wedding Photographer

‘Being in love’ first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep the promise. It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it.

This past Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Ellen and Joshua's wedding, a celebration that was as intimate as it was beautiful. The day began at the historic Elizabeth Gaskell's House, a venue that effortlessly exudes charm and character, nestled on the edge of Manchester. The couple, who have been together since their teenage years, opted for an exclusive gathering of just 34 of their dearest family and friends, allowing the day to be filled with the warmth of genuine connection. The iconic space was such a perfect backdrop for the earlier part of the day.

The ceremony was a tapestry of emotions, each moment echoing the deep love Ellen and Joshua share. Capturing these intimate exchanges through my lens, I felt privileged to witness a love story that has stood the test of time. Post-ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with confetti—each piece a small token of love from their guests. This was followed by an elegant afternoon tea by wonderful Sharon of VIntage Afternoon Teas, where heartfelt speeches filled the room, echoing tales of cherished memories and well-wishes for the future.

As evening descended, the festivities took us to the bustling Northern Quarter, specifically to the Lost Weekend basement bar within Shack. Here, the celebration expanded with nearly 60 more of Ellen and Joshua's closest friends joining the party. The atmosphere was electric; a fusion of laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the occasional thud of a dart hitting its mark. I'm certain the night also saw its fair share of dancing, as joy floated on every note of music played.

Photographing this incredible couple was a true joy. Ellen and Joshua possess an infectious energy and an apparent ease with one another, making my task feel less like work and more like a privilege. Being a part of their special day was not only an opportunity to capture moments of joy but also a chance to get to know them and witness the unwavering bond they share.

Here's to the lifelong journey of this wonderful young couple. May their future be as bright and full of love as the day of their wedding.
