2019: A Year in Weddings - Manchester Wedding Photography

And oh, what a HELL of a year it’s been. Words truly cannot express just how grateful I am to do the work I do - there is an overwhelming JOY that emanates throughout my workday and I know how truly unique that is. It is a massive understatement to say that I fall a bit in love with my couples. As I edit and scrutinise each image, I see variances in their joy - from nervous frissons to fidgety anticipation, relief when they catch sight of each other down the aisle, softness and awe during the vows, wild pride as they greet their family and friends, quiet intimacy when we sneak away for their portraits, a little apprehension and a LOT of tears during the heartfelt speeches and finally fist-pumping, roof-raising elation as they dance and sing the night away amongst their loved ones. What an absolute honour it is to document SO. MUCH. LOVE.

I’m a renowned these days for being a pretty terrible salesperson - I’m a completely open book when it comes to how I run my business and the role I play in each wedding. Every couple this year has been subjected to my rambling off-piste ‘sale pitch’ (if you can even call it that haha!) but with each and every couple, there has been a connection - a spark of recognition in a kindred spirit and a trust that whilst I may talk too much and can be a bit of a magpie when it comes to pretty light and doorways, I will faithfully and enthusiastically capture the story of their day. I will deliver a time capsule that (hopefully) evokes the above-mentioned rollercoaster of joy that is their wedding day.

So from the very very bottom of my very very emotional heart, I thank these 26 couples whose faces I won’t forget - who have inspired me to work ever harder. 26 unique, crazy, BEAUTIFULLY creative weddings that pushed me to capture that intagible moment in time where their next great adventure began.

What a way to end a decade, I love you all so much. This is for you.
