Emily & Iain: A Stylish, Rustic, DIY Owen House Wedding Barn Wedding

The photos are absolutely stunning! You have done an amazing job capturing all of the little details and special moments of our day and we could not be happier!

When Iain and Emily first got in touch with me about their Owen House Wedding Barn wedding in Cheshire, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most beautiful and laid back wedding with an intimate ceremony, a hand-fasting and even a live band. Iain and Emily are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The excitement before the wedding

I began the morning at the Owen House bridal prep suite, where the girls were getting ready together, and it was really exciting, because everyone was in a good mood. Iain wore a navy Ted Baker suit and Emily wore a Watters gown from Foxglove Bridal and they looked so perfect. I was so struck by the attention they paid to all the details of the day - how what they were wearing tied in with the venue and the self-designed decor.  They literally thought of EVERYTHING! Once they were both ready, Emily & Iain had requested a pre-wedding 'first look'.  This was the first time I had orchestrated and shot one and I was SO excited.  We brought Iain into the room outside of the bridal suite and when he turned around and saw his longtime love, there wasn't a dry eye in the house! It was such a perfectly emotional way to begin their wedding and we followed with the immediate family photos.  The JOY emanating from the space was deafening!!

The vows

The wedding took place in the candlelit ceremony room, and was a romantic intimate ceremony. They had a handfasting, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. Iain and Emily have been together since they were kids nd that history loomed large over the day's proceedings. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then the celebrations began. You could really feel the love enveloping this wonderful couple.

The party

The wedding reception took place in the next room over, which they’d decorated with GORGEOUS flowers and tea lights, silk table runners and calligraphed table numbers. It was incredible.

It was a overcast day, which was perfect for photos and Owen House is a bit of a photographer's paradise so we really used the venue for some lovely portraits. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the farm doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from the afternoon is this quiet moment between our lovebirds.  Emily looks so serene and elegant.

During the reception they had a live band, which went down a storm - and got everyone dancing. For the meal they served a feast by the wonderful Vanilla In All Seasons, and it was absolutely delicious. After the meal they had some wonderful speeches, then we managed to sneak out for some moonlit dancing under the arbor before the couple hit the dancefloor.  Then the party truly started!

Here’s their STUNNING Owen House Wedding Barn wedding!
