When Grace and Carl chose me to capture their summer wedding at the iconic Victoria Warehouse in Salford, I couldn't have been more thrilled. Our connection budded back in 2022 when Grace, serving as the maid of honour for her best friend Lucy, was relentlessly supportive and genuinely wonderful. Little did we know, we were actually neighbours! So, when Grace and Carl asked me to photograph their big day, it felt like an invitation from dear friends.
Grace and Carl's wedding day was everything you would hope for from a summer celebration—balmy, joyful, and full of heartwarming moments. Neither Grace nor Carl is fond of being the centre of attention, so we made sure to orchestrate the day in a way that allowed them to spend as much time with their 107 guests as possible.
The day started blissfully at the Dakota Hotel in Manchester, where Grace got ready with her lovely bridesmaids (yes, Lucy was one of them!). The atmosphere was a perfect blend of excitement and calm, setting the stage for the beautiful moments to come. Grace glowed with happiness, surrounded by her closest friends as they shared laughter and heartfelt moments.
From there, I headed over to Victoria Warehouse to capture Carl and his groomsmen as they prepped for the big day. This venue, with its blend of industrial aesthetics and historic charm, really set the stage for a wedding to remember. The heartfelt ceremony was followed by the joyous chaos of a confetti toss, meaningful family photos, and some fun and candid shots with the wedding party.
One of the highlights of the day was the meal, accompanied by deeply moving speeches that earned raucous applause! Carl's brother then surprised everyone with an upbeat set of piano-accompanied covers, sparking an enthusiastic dance session that had every guest grooving.
It was truly a day to remember, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of Grace and Carl's journey from the very beginning. Capturing their wedding was not just a professional assignment, but a personal joy.
