This past Saturday, I had the delightful opportunity to photograph Jess & Jacques' wedding celebration at the historic Stretford Public. Nestled in the heart of Stretford, this venue with its vintage charm and elegant architecture provided a picture-perfect backdrop for a day brimming with love, nostalgia, and joy.
Although Jess and Jacques were legally married last year, just ahead of the joyous arrival of their daughter, this celebration was all about renewing their vows and sharing their happiness with their closest circle. Their friend Gabe conducted a beautiful and heartfelt vow renewal ceremony. To see the couple reaffirm their commitment in the presence of those who have stood by them throughout their journey was truly touching. Over 200 of their dearest friends and family members attended, filling the room with warmth and shared memories. Many in attendance had known Jess and Jacques since they first got together as teenagers, more than a decade ago.
The ambiance of the day was nothing short of magical. There was something incredibly special about capturing the contagious laughter, the tinkling sounds of babies giggling, and the melodic tunes that drifted through the air. The speeches were deeply moving, with tributes to Jess and Jacques' enduring bond, their resilience over the years, and their new joys of parenthood. As I captured these raw, emotional moments, I couldn’t help but feel part of this extraordinary celebration.
Despite the looming threat of rainstorms, luck was on our side. We managed to sneak out during golden hour, and those fleeting moments under the soft, golden sunlight resulted in some of the most breathtaking portraits of the day. The serene glow captured the couple's happiness and undying love beautifully, creating images that will surely be cherished for years to come.
Looking back, I can confidently say that documenting Jess and Jacques' wedding celebration was an absolute blast and I had the best time getting to know them & their wonderful friends and family. The love, laughter, and sheer joy of the day will be moments I'll remember fondly. Here's to Jess, Jacques, and their beautiful journey ahead!
