When Charlotte and Lukas first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so happy – they were planning the most relaxed countryside wedding with an outdoor ceremony and a lovely meal with friends and family for the reception. Charlotte and Lukas are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
I started bright and early on one of the hottest days of the year, welcomed into the blissfully air conditioned bridal suite at The Mere, where the bride and her friends were getting ready together, and it was so chilled out, because all the girls were there and there was absolutely no stress. Charlotte wore a killer beaded art-deco insprired Badgley Mischka gown and Lukas wore a dapper velvet tuxedo and they looked really perfect. I love the attention to detail Charlotte & Lukas equally took with finding the perfect outfits - it can be somewhat uninspiring I'd imagine for a groom choosing a suit. This day is about the both of you looking and feeling your best so I love when both partners really take the time to choose something special. Lukas's velvet tux was a DREAM and Charlotte looked positively regal with her bejewelled boho crown.
The wedding took place at The Mere Golf and Spa in Knutsford, and was a stunning garden ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they were showered with confetti, and then the celebrations began. A truly special touch was when Charlotte's brother performed a short acoustic set during the signing of the register. It was such a lovely moment!
The wedding reception took place in the gardens overlooking the golf course with stunning lakeside views, and the gazebo uner which they made their vows was dressed in SPECTACULAR florals by Tamaryn’s Treasures. It was so wonderfully personalised.
It was a beautifully sunny (and reasting hot) day, which was what the couple had hoped for. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. My favourite photo from the afternoon is when we lined up the bridal party for a serious portrait session - they were truly game for anything!
During the reception they had magician Sam Fitton perform, which went down a storm. Sam is one of the hardest working - and most amazingly talented professional in the biz so you always know it’s going to be an awesome time when the couple brings him on board. For the wedding breakfast they had proper wedding grub, and it was loved by all the guests. Afterwards, they had some wonderful speeches and the party REALLY got started. They chose Motown Gold as their band who are AMAZING at getting everyone up and moving. I LOVED that Lukas & Charlotte's first dance was the title track from that seminal Tom Hanks classic, That Thing You Do - the happy couple had a proper boogie before inviting everyone onto the dancefloor (where they remained for the rest of the night!).
I had the most amazing day capturing Charlotte & Lukas's gorgeous wedding with an assist fom my pal Clare Gathercole Photography. It was especially sweet to be back at The Mere after a few years and I LOVED working alongside Ange, Leah and the rest of the awesome team who ensure your day is PERFECT.
I cannot thank the new M`r. & Mrs. Rabin enough for having me along to capture their beautiful wedding day. They were warm and welcoming, generous and truly up for anything - including a cheeky sunset golf buggy trip onto the course! I have loved getting to know them.
