Liz & Dave - An Epic Italian Destination Wedding in Ravello - Amalfi Coast Wedding

I always promised myself I would return to Italy - it was where, at nineteen, I first lived on my own and navigated fresh independence whilst studying oil painting and film photography in the narrow streets of Florence. I was largely broke, completely inexperienced and spent my last Euros on cheap red wine and rolls of film, boar bristle paintbrushes and trays of scalding lasagne. I spent my days in the Uffizi and my nights in the studio or the darkroom, falling in love with my visual media of choice. Then 5 years later I returned, this time to the sun-drenched island of Sardinia, with a backpack and tent and a ginger Englishman from Manchester I had only met six weeks previously. Once again I fell in love but this time with the turquoise seas and white sand, the smoky pizzas straight out of the wood-fired ovens and, most importantly, the man who would become my husband a few years later. Italy has been synonymous with love and discovery and sheer delight.

So this weekend I’ve been taken back to this country that I love so much, that holds so many strong, vibrant memories for me under the guise of work. And rather than telling my own story again, I’ve had the unbelievable privilege of capturing and sharing the love story of Liz & Dave’s incredible wedding day against the backdrops of the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. The new Mr. & Mrs. Pettitt have spent the past 12 years together and share 3 BEAUTIFUL and amazing children. And the beauty of their relationship, their respect and overflowing love for each other and their life together is completely mirrored by the staggering beauty of this incredible country (also the food, ohmygod the food). I cannot thank them enough for entrusting me with such a massive responsibility and truly making me (and my husband) feel so so welcome. We’ve loved every minute of our adventure in Ravello.

I must of course also thank my mentor and dearest friends Jonny & Emma Draper for introducing me to Liz & Dave and for having faith that I wouldn’t mess their best friends’ wedding photos up! Also to the wonder woman extraordinaire that is Lucy Wright for pulling off one hell of an Italian wedding - you are just unreal and I’m so in awe of everything you do to make a couples’ wedding dreams come true.
