Amy & Dan - A Botanical-themed Autumn Wedding at The Holford Estate - Cheshire Wedding Photographer

The Holford Estate is starting to become a bit of a home from home for me - an impeccably run Cheshire wedding venue set back into the lush countryside down an unassuming lane that opens into the most breathtaking grounds. I have been so fortunate over the last year or so to return several times and always look forward to spending the day hanging out with my pal, coordinater/stylist/superhero Hannah, plus catch ups with owner Frances, cuddles from the horses & pups and a bit of freedom to capture this epic venue 1,000 different ways…the gardens are an absolute DELIGHT, the barn is beautifully lit and I am learning that I’m only just scratching the surface of it’s photographic potential.

When childhood sweethearts Amy & Dan got in touch with me about capturing their Holford Estate wedding, I JUMPED at the chance! They wanted to keep their day fairly low-key, a simple celebration in this beautiful space surrounded by their warm and welcoming close friends and family. And, my goodness, you could seriously feel the love and history that these wonderful humans share! I arrived to the Mill for bridal prep a couple of hours before the ceremony where Amy and here bridal squad of three were getting ready listening to Florence & the Machine and keeping calm before all of the excitement to come. After a quick trip up to the main barn for some photo fun with Dan & groomsmen Adam & George (plus cheeky Shuey the horse!), I returned to the Mill just in time to help Amy into her STUNNING lace Wilderly Bride wedding dress and it was time for the main event!

After an emotional ceremony, the day stretched ahead in a dreamy October glow featuring some bizarre rainy sunshine during a bride squad shoot for the ages, jaw-dropping floral touches by Grace of Maybe May, some memorable speeches, a delicious wedding breakfast and a quick sneak out the gates for a quiet moment and photos in the orchard. As Amy & Dan made their grand entrance back into the barn, their guests cheered and the party really got started to the soulful tunes of the Flynn & Tonics band.

A truly magical wedding at this incredible venue and I just can’t wait to return. A HUGE thank you to the Challenor/Steele families for welcoming me into Amy & Dan’s gogeous celebrations and of course to Hannah and her flawless team for running such a fabulous place to spend a day at work.
