Ashleigh & Ryan - A Dreamy, Vintage Botanical Garden wedding at Sefton Palm House - Liverpool Wedding Photography

If you’re planning a wedding at The Palm House at Sefton Park in Liverpool, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!

Ashleigh and Ryan got married at The Palm House at Sefton Park, which is a historic indoor botanical garden in Liverpool with the most breathtaking glass orangerie. It was the most beautiful wedding and the sun even made an appearance!

The ceremony was an intimate service under an arbour, set against the wild greenery of the Palm House. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was really emotional, I loved how conencted these beautiful humans are.

They decorated the area simply with tealights and had disposable cameras on all the tables, which I loved. The reception was spilled out onto the sun-soaked grounds as everyone enjoyed this beautifully private space away from the bustle of the city – I love this venue because it has so many great opportunities for portraits, regardless of the weather. Weddings at The Palm House at Sefton Park are amazing, because the building is absolutely amazing, the staff is exceptional and, as a photographer, you’re spoilt for choice by the amazing backdrops. The Palm House at Sefton Park is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Liverpool. The venue offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding – and there are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photos.

The couple had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and my faves, New Power Soul Club, perform in the evening after a cheeky ‘first Pastel de Nata’ in lieu of a cake cut. The transformation of this extraordinary space from day to night is truly spectacular - it requires only minimal dressing because the real showstopper is the jungle housed in glass and lit from below to really stand out. For dinner they had proper wedding grub, and the first dance was to 80s synth epic The Whole of the Moon by the Waterbos - they even had put together some light choreography for it! I left behind one epic dance party under the glow of the lights later on…

Ashleigh wore a minimalist Charlie Brear ivory sheath dress and Ryan wore a three-piece suit and they looked really beautiful. With gentle nods of vintage inspiration, the happy couple popped perfectly against the dramatic scenes of the Palm House.

I had the best day celebrating with this magical couple and their WONDERFUL family and friends. The day was effortless and easy, just like their own love. What remains after a wedding day? An afterglow of joy, residual giddy fairy dust, the beginning of a new adventure into marriage. Thank you so much for having me along to tell your story, my loves, here's a sneak peek of what we got up to.
